12-26-15 Sat

Boy did I blow it! I really got the days mixed up and it wasn't until just a few minutes ago that I realized I miss my Saturday morning blog post. Of course yesterday was Christmas. Daniel and I went over to Joe and Hilda's house and had breakfast with them and watch the kids open the presents. It really was a lot of fun and it was Daniel's 1st Christmas home in 17 years.

Pretty much life goes on as before except without my girl. Which means I do my work and then I try and do hers also. I definitely fall short in that department. She was so organized and so clean, it was truly amazing. Harriet spent her 1st Christmas in heaven. I would venture to say that her Christmas was better than ours.

I want to wish everybody a very Happy New Year! Tomorrow morning I'm preaching a message on the past year in review.

Frank

12-19-15 Sat.

Good morning everybody! We had Bible class last night and then I went longer than normal. I couldn't quite see the clock and I went over 20 minutes. When you're up on the platform the stage lights shine right in your eyes and it's hard to see the far back wall where the clock is hanging. Then I had a meeting afterwards and didn't get home till late.

So this past week we been all working hard in preparation for our Christmas Sunday service which would be tomorrow and then we have our Christmas Eve service which is on the 24th at 6:30 PM if you would like to come. We will have communion and a candlelight service on that evening.

I hope everyone's focus this next week is not on what Presents they are receiving from others, it's so easy to be caught up with the here and now. We get so busy in our lives we forget the big picture. The greatest gift is God giving his Son so that we might have eternal life. John 3:16

It's kind of tough this Christmas.Harriet has always the one that would write out the Christmas cards. So that means not many Christmas cards are being sent this year. I hope I don't offend too many people. I Do Wish You All a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Maranatha,
Frank

12-12-15 Sat

Hello everybody! Well it's obviously the busiest time of year and everybody is preparing for Christmas. It's really interesting to hear what they say on the radio. Now instead of Christmas programs or even holiday programs that the kids put on at school, now it's Winterfest. The secular world does everything possible to remove any hint of Jesus.

I heard last week that a college said that they are not allowed to use red and green lights to decorate because it's too Christian. I realized that the red and green lights have nothing to do with Christianity, but it shows you how for they will go and even further than ever expected to remove any semblance of a traditional Christian Christmas.

Okay I'll get off the soapbox. It just ticks me off. Probably you too. So Daniel is still working like a rented mule. He really does work hard and I'm very thankful for it. He's just doing a lot of good things and making right choices. I thank you all for your prayerful support.

We are having a Christmas eve service on the 24th evening. It's always great to be together and to read the Christmas story & sing Christmas Carols.

During this next week in preparation for Christmas let's remember our priorities.

12-5-15 Sat.

We had another busy week this week. Sometimes it doesn't seem like life will slow down. Daniel is doing well, working hard and he's very thankful for the job and for the work.

This morning Daniel and I are meeting with Joe, Hilda and the boys for breakfast. It's always a lot of fun to eat with them. We just have a good time together and of course the little kids are so cute. I'll try and get a picture of everybody and if I can I'll post it later on today.

We are of course getting ready for Christmas celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It will be a great time.

I thought I might mentioned that it's important for all of us to keep a focus on the priorities for this Christmas season. It's not about the gifts we give to one another, it's really about the gift that God gave to us through his son Jesus Christ.

I was talking to my good friend Lois last week at church and she mentioned how she enjoys the blog and also the pictures. I commented to her that most of the pictures have been seen and she said that she did not mind, she enjoys all the pictures regardless. God bless you Lois

Tomorrow I'm preaching on another example from the New Testament. There is a young lady in the the book of acts called Tabatha. Her name is translated as Dorcas. She had a very simple ministry and yet she was so important. She's a great example for all of us.

I hope you have a great weekend, Maranatha,
Frank
