3-26-16 Good Sat.

Well, why can't there be a good Saturday if there's a Good Friday? We had our Good Friday service yesterday evening at church along with communion and a candlelight service at the end. It was very nice.

Tomorrow of courses one of the most important days in Christendom. The resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I hope that you will make the time to go to church on Easter Sunday morning.

I came up with the picture that I don't think I've shown before. It's of Harriet, Hilda and the boys at In-N-Out hamburgers.

The picture is dated January 27, 2013. Which means Matthew is missing from the picture because he had not been born yet. Don't those hamburgers look good? I guess you know where I'm going for lunch.

I hope that you have a really great weekend, Maranatha,
Frank

3-19-16 Palm Saturday

Good morning everybody! I was talking to Steve and Linda last night and telling them I would try and find some more pictures that I've not posted yet. Most of you are aware that when I was teaching Bible class on Saturday evenings at church, Harriet would cook dinner for the entire class.

The Bible class would run about 50 people each week. She would start her preparation on Thursday and she had an amazing talent that she was able to cook everything and get it to the church and serve it hot. We purchased 3 or 4 of those heating trays, so that when we got to church everything was kept warm. As you look at the pictures you will find a lot of familiar faces. Harriet cooked these meals every Saturday for over 3 years.

I'm sure that many of the people came the Bible class came for her good cooking. I sure miss Harriet and I miss her good cooking to. She did so much and she was so organized it was amazing.

Tomorrow we celebrate Palm Sunday. The Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem by Jesus Christ riding a donkey. I hope that you will take the time to go to the church of your choice and remember all that Jesus did for each one of us.

3-12-16 We get rain

We had some wind and rain yesterday afternoon. It was really nice because of course we need that rain so badly.

We have been working on the children's church this past week and making a new room available for the toddlers. That would be children that are pre-kindergarten. It's coming along nicely and hopefully this Sunday it will work well.

I found a couple of pictures that I've not posted on the blog. The 1st one is of Harriet and me at our favorite restaurant in Hawaii, Duke's. The 2nd one is at a lookout in Hawaii. It's at the top of a ridge of mountains separating the north from the south side of the island. It's really incredible how windy it is up there. The picture is taken looking toward the north side of the island.

These pictures are dated November 1, 2007. Lots of fond memories.

Tomorrow I will be teaching about why we use the King James Bible instead of newer translations. I am not a person that says "King James only". But, you need to look at the history and which manuscripts are used to translate the Bible your reading. I hope you can make it. It will definitely be a learning experience for everyone.

Have a great weekend, Maranatha,

Frank

3-5-16 Bustin Bible Ignorance

Good morning everybody! I have something new to tell you. My good friend Lois has started a blog. I would encourage you all to go to her blog and mark it. She's a long time Christian friend of mine and she has some great insights. I think that you will be blessed and challenged. Here is her blog address:

People ask how Daniel is doing and I wanted you to know that he is working hard. He's got a full-time job and a part-time job working for a friend of mine doing spreadsheet work on his laptop. He's finished his 6 month transitional housing and is moving into his 1st apartment in about a week. Quite a few people have donated certain articles of furniture and things that he will need to start his new life. Very thankful for all the good friends who have stepped up to the plate at this time.

I'm meeting with our son Joe and his wife Hilda along with the boys for breakfast this morning. It's always fun to be with them. The kids are so full of life and energy. If I can remember I will take some pictures and put them on the blog next week.

This Sunday I will give a message about one of the most important people in the New Testament church, the apostle Paul. But, before he was the apostle Paul, he was Saul of Tarsus. He persecuted the new religious cult that called themselves Christians. It will make an interesting study of his life. If you can make it all see you at church at 8:45 AM sharp.

I hope you have a wonderful week, Maranatha,
Frank
