2-25-17 Sat.

Busy week this past week. We met on Wednesday afternoon with the pastor and committee from the church in Lakeside we are looking to use their Fellowship Hall. If you don't know why, read my last blog a week ago.

The pastor and the two other men on the committee were very nice and receptive. I prepared a list of our needs and went over them point by point. Afterwards we walked the property looking at the fellowship hall and also classrooms that will be used for Sunday school for the kids.

One of the men on the committee told me that he did not think that the requests are unreasonable. So we seem to think that everything went very well. They need to present this to their elder board for a final decision and they don't meet till February 28. So by next weekend I should have their response.

Everything is so green because of all of our rain that we've received, my friend Larry and I hiked up to the top of a hill close to my house and we launched my drone and took some videos and a few pictures which I will include.

If you look at the second picture and see the bridge in the distance, I'd flown my drone all the way to just this side of that bridge. I was tempted to fly under the bridge to the other side, but Saner heads prevailed. It is over 4000 feet away and I was still able to track the drone even though it was a tiny speck. Of course I have a display on the transmitter and I can see exactly what the camera sees. This is called FPV (First Person View). It really is quite amazing! In a future blog I will post a picture and you will see what the display looks like and the information that is available.

You can see my mobile home park in the fourth picture.I took each picture from the same position and just rotated the drone slightly to the right. So if you were to take the second picture and put it to the right of the first picture it would be a continuous view. Same with the rest of the pics. The reason I didn't stitch all four of these pictures together to make it a panorama shot is because it ends up being very tiny vertically.

Pastor Mike will be preaching tomorrow morning and I'm looking forward to the message. He will be preaching from Psalms 23.

I hope you have a good weekend.

2-18-17 Sat.

We had our annual breakfast last Saturday morning. It was at the formerly known as Singing Hills Golf Resort.Quite nice and no complaints about the food. I'm including a picture of my well-balanced plate.
You will notice I did not say it was nutritionally balanced. The plate was Balanced so it doesn't tip over. Pastor Mike gave a short but very good message. Lots of great people there.

One thing I've not mentioned is that our churches lease has not been renewed. We've been leasing from a building/property manager for the past four years. We are paying for the first timeslot on Sunday morning and it must leave the sanctuary by 10:30 AM and then another church comes in for their service after us. This other church is the property managers church and I could be wrong but I think he would like to have our timeslot.

We are looking for a suitable location and I will keep you updated as to what we find. We have a meeting set for next Wednesday to speak with a pastor about using his fellowship hall for our church service.

Well, these are the things that been going on this past week. We got almost an inch of rain in Santee last night and in some places in the San Diego area received almost 2 inches of rain. That's quite a lot for us all at one time.

I hope you have a great week and Maranatha!

Saturday 2-11-17

Good Morning Everybody!

I must get the blog out early this morning because we are having our yearly breakfast which we schedule just before Valentine's Day.

Pastor Mike Spees will be speaking and of course, the breakfast is always great. We go to the place that is formally known as Singing Hills Golf Course Resort.

Tomorrow's message at church will be taken from Proverbs chapter 3:5-6. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your path".

I hope you have a great weekend and Maranatha!

2-4-17 Sat.

Very busy week this past week. Does life ever slowed down? It seems I'm as busy now as I ever have been. Working at the church and preaching on Sunday morning and teaching two Bible classes each week, it just takes a lot of time.

A week from today we will have our annual breakfast at the formerly known as Singing Hills Golf Course Resort. So in two weeks I'll have some pictures for you. We schedule the breakfast on the Saturday before Valentine's Day. It's a lot of fun and pastor Mike Spees will be giving the message.

I mentioned last week in the blog that I will include some pictures of one of my favorite places in Hawaii. Haleiwa is a nice little town on the north shore of Hawaii. We ate breakfast at the Haleiwa Café a couple of times.

If you're ever up that way, stop in and have a nice meal.

On the morning I went to video at Haleiwa Beach, I got there before first light. After the sun came up I was checking it out as a couple of guys were going out to hit the waves. I met this man named Sammy and Haleiwa is his home break. I took a picture of us using my drone.

I videoed for about two hours and Sammy stayed with me for the entire time. Really nice guy.

This morning I'm going to spend with the grandsons. It's always a lot of fun being with them. They chatter about everything and I really enjoy being with them. They are such nice boys. I am truly blessed.

You know last week I put some video links and I didn't realize that it wouldn't work for you. You see the links I put up were actually meant for me because I am the person that uploaded the videos. The video links for other people are a different configuration. I'm going to include some video links if you are interested in viewing them. Hawaii is so picturesque.

Waimea

Pipeline

Haleiwa

The Blowhole and Sandy Beach

Del Mar

I took over 150 GB of videos while in Hawaii and I have not had a chance to edit and post all of them. Everything just takes time.

I hope you have a great week.

Maranatha,
Frank
