7-29-17 Sat.

Does anybody know what this means? If you are a Bible student, you should be able to recognize enough information to ascertain what it means. This is a little sign that my dad had in his workshop and it's written in Hungarian. Worst case scenario you can type it in to Google translator and find out what it means.

Last Sunday my good friends Pastor Mike and his wife Denise came down to visit Mike's parents who live in East County and they came to church. Everyone was very happy to see them and I thought they look great!

Speaking of surfing, the waves have been excruciatingly small. 0 to 1 foot. As I mentioned in the video I made this past week these are the Dog Days of Summer. I sold two of my surfboards to a gentleman by the name of Al who lives in Imperial Beach. He's having such a good time with the Wave Jets. He's got about five friends and they go out and take turns using these surfboards. My friends Larry and Bob and I went down there this past week and videoed them even though the waves were tiny.  I've not been to Imperial Beach for a long time and it really has changed for the better. Here is a link if you have not seen it.   https://youtu.be/rZniaV3bpYg

I'm going out with my beautiful grandchildren (are anybody's grandchildren not beautiful?). I enjoy spending time with them and as you all know the time will come when they are older and want to hang around with their own friends and not with grandpa. So I will enjoy it while I can. We have such a good time together.

My good friends Bruce and Susie have come down for the weekend from Simi Valley. Longtime friends, for over fifty years. How does that work? How do you keep friends for that long of a time? They are staying in Chula Vista at a RV park that's right on the water (Bay). They have a beautiful big RV and it has all the comforts of home. They invited me down for dinner this evening and it will be a lot of fun. They brought their kids and grandkids and I look forward to seeing them.

I have one more surfboard to sell. It's the one I took on our honeymoon. How considerate of me right? Harriet has always been understanding of my hobby of surfing. She knew how much it meant to me. This was taken on September 5, 1971.

I still miss my girl!

7-22-17 Sat.

Rough night, last night. On Thursday afternoon I was at home and I  felt some type of irritation in my left eye. I used drops in my eye trying to wash it out and it was still there on Saturday morning and it was getting worse.

On Saturday afternoon I decided to go to Kaiser Urgent Care. The doctor I saw said he saw a small ulcer or lesion about 1 mm², but he recommended that I go to the specialist who was at a different Kaiser location.

I drove to the Vanderveer location of Kaiser and finally got to see the specialist. She put the drops in my eyes and checked everything out and said she couldn't see anything, but she prescribed an ointment to be used for the next five days at bedtime.

I put it in my eye before I went to sleep and I ended up waking up at midnight and it was really bad. I thought I was going to have to call and cancel my outing with the grandkids for today and go back to Kaiser. Terribly painful. But, when I finally got to sleep I woke up at 4 AM and realize that the pain was gone. Somehow during the night, the ointment really made a difference and I'm so thankful.

This past week my friend Larry and I were able to go out and video couple of times and that's always nice. My friend Pastor Mike and his wife Denise are coming down for the weekend and they are going to go to church with me and others from Maranatha Bible Church. It's always great to see them.

I hope you have a great weekend and Maranatha,
Frank

7-15-17 Sat,

Very interesting week. On Wednesday Larry and I went to Del Mar and checked out the waves. We had a very deep South swell and La Jolla blocks the swell to most of the beaches North of it in San Diego County. Because of this, the waves were very tiny. We decided to drive South to Windansea.

Windansea takes a South swell real well. It was beautiful! Nice size waves and the guys out there were really getting some good rides. I launched The Beast. I got some real nice footage. But the dumb seagulls were relentless in their attack of my drone. Even the guys in the water, told me that heard all the squawking the birds were making and they looked up and could see the seagulls swooping down on my drone. No matter what I did, so I brought The Beast in and landed it. The seagulls were still in attack mode. Larry and I took out our cell phones and videoed it. If you have not seen the video check it out at this link: https://youtu.be/nigwq7RWS4s

The next day, Thursday, I went back with both my drones. Because I wanted to see if they would attack my White Phantom 4 Pro. Remember the drones left Larry’s drone alone when mine got attacked in Del Mar. So I thought I would change up the drone and see if they leave it alone. There were only a few seagulls on Thursday and I had no problems. Really weird! Here is a link to Thursday’s video. If you enjoy the ocean and love to see the beauty of God’s creation, check it out at this link: https://youtu.be/vkKGIi3oPtg

I was just watching the 5:00 AM news this morning and they reported that the “Pride Parade” is today and they expect 100,000 people. You know what this about, people taking pride in the homosexual lifestyle. Two weeks ago during the Bible Study I brought up the Scripture Ezekiel 16:49-50. You might want to read the entire chapter for context. The verse goes like this:

49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

The sin of Sodom and Gomorrah, the five cities of the plains was not homosexuality. It is clear that homosexuality was just an indication of how far they had fallen. Pride was the root sin and it manifested itself in homosexuality when they rejected God. This is the same thing that is going on today in the United States of America and other parts of the world. Notice the rest of the verse "fullness of bread" it means that they had plenty to eat and things were going great. "Abundance of idleness" again it shows that they were doing really well and they had plenty of time to do carefree things not just the basic things for providing for their families. All these things are indicators of not just Sodom and Gomorrah that were destroyed by fire and brimstone, but other cultures when they sink to the lowest level, the manifestation is homosexuality which is the deathknell for that civilization. If you study history of the Greeks and the Romans you will know this is fact.

Thomas Jefferson said, "I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever."

The only hope we have for our beloved country is to pray that there is a revival. If you examine the history of the United States you will notice that when things are good and people have lots of money and extra time, sin abounds. During the difficult times through our nation's history, people get down on their knees and pray. Specifically what comes to mind is during the Great Depression. There was a great revival in the land. When things are going great, people turn their backs on God. I pray that it does not take another "Great Depression" for us to repent nationally.

7-8-17 Sat.

Good morning everybody! It's Saturday morning and it's coming up on 5:30 AM. Larry and I went to the beach yesterday and the waves are really tiny. Here's a picture with my friend Ken sitting out there waiting and hoping for a wave.

It was 5:30 in the morning and a little bit foggy so you can tell there's not a whole lot a light. The conditions have been poor the last couple of months with a couple of standout good days.

But the interesting thing that happened was that my Inspire 2 drone that I was flying, was attacked by a Sea gull over and over again. Below you will see a picture of the drone I was flying. My friend Larry took this picture with his drone which is a Mavic Pro. We nicknamed my drone the Beast because of its size.

I have subscribed to a number of YouTube channels that carry like information about drones. A few weeks ago I saw a video that a guy posted. A Sea gull had knocked his drone out of the sky. He was videoing down by a body of water that had a small pier. I remember how he had said that the Sea gull was relentless. He made the comment that the only way to escape is to go vertical. A drone can fly in six different directions (that's right, but not all of the same time).

Larry and I have been flying since the very beginning of January at the same location without any problems. But, yesterday morning this Sea Gull kept flying after my drone and the interesting thing it left Larry's drone alone which is more of a portable smaller drone, comparatively speaking. Well I remembered the video that I viewed a few weeks ago and I hit the up stick and this drone goes straight up at about 7 meters a second and of course the seagull can't do that. No matter what I did including flying out over the ocean or different areas the Sea gull would follow and continue to pursue me. It was really kind of weird. If these drones were not so expensive, I would've liked to joust with the bird.

We've had a couple of real hot days. I have a beautiful picture I took about a week and a half ago over the Santee sandpit's right at about sun rise.

I sold five of the six surfboards I've accumulated over the years. The only one left is my Gordon & Smith, Midgett Farrelly Nose Rider. This is the board that I took on our honeymoon and of course I have to include that picture too.

I don't know what happened to my dumb formatting program for this blog, but it's gone off the rails. This is the second time that this is happened during this posting and I don't want to start all over again. So, I'll just close and wish you a great weekend.

7-1-17 Sat.

So what exciting things are happening here in San Diego? Not a whole lot, but that's a great segue to tell you what's happening with my friends David and Tracy. This past week they flew up to Idaho and I just receive some pictures from Tracy and their adventure.

Does that look like fun? I'm glad they're having a great time. It looks to me like some of the pictures were taken from a drone. I will check with Tracy and see if that's the case.

We had Bible study on Wednesday evening and we are just finishing chapter 1 in the Book of Romans.

Yesterday we finally got relatively good weather and Larry and I were able to do some flying at Del Mar to do another surf video. There was a slight breeze out of the South West which did not help. It's been two weeks from today since we made the previous videos so everybody was itching to get in the water.

This next week we celebrate the birth of our country. I would encourage you to pray that our country returned to its roots in the foundation it was built upon which is the word of God.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land."
