11-28-15 Sat

Good morning everybody! Another week has gone by so quickly and here we are almost at the end of the year. I hope that you had a very nice Thanksgiving day.

This past week I had a lady that was recommended to me to do housekeeping and she came on Tuesday morning and work for 2 1/2 hours. She did pretty much all the floors and dusting and I asked her to clean the stovetop and the sink. I guess these are the areas that I'm not doing very well on. I try to keep things pretty clean but, these are the areas that need the help. I know that Harriet kept everything meticulously clean. I keep watering all of her plants too. It's really funny how this works.

I think I was telling someone at church that I've done more dishes in the past 3 months that I've done in 44 years of marriage. Harriet just always took care of all these things and she enjoyed doing them. I guess you might say it was her gifting. These things were not a chore for her. She loved to keep the house clean and tidy.

Daniel's been working hard and we went over to Joe and Hilda's on Thanksgiving day. Hilda was fantastic insulation point she made a great meal with all the things that we are used to eating, that Harriet used to make. I'm talking, a Hungarian ,, type of meatloaf patties, mashed potatoes, corn and cucumber salad that Harriet taught her how to make. She just did a fantastic job and everything was great.

On Sunday morning I will continue the study that we been doing. I've been taking different people from both the old and New Testament and using them as examples of what we should do and what we should not be doing. This coming Sunday will be Jonah, the reluctant prophet. I hope that you will take the time to be in the house of the Lord this Sunday.

Thanksgiving Day 11-26-15

Thanksgiving day is tomorrow and I was just thinking (I know, shocking). Thinking about a lot of stuff. But as you can image, Harriet is on my mind so much. After 44 years, the vast majority of my adult life we spent together. As I look at this and many other pictures....

.. I see a very happy person. I tried to shield her from many things, so she would not have to deal with them. But I can say that she was very happy and content with our life together. I sure miss my girl.

Now that I got that done with, I wanted to wish you all a very good Thanksgiving Day. Make sure you count your blessings, name them one by one.

11-21-15 Sat UPDATED with pics

Dear Friends, I forgot that I have a Baptism this morning at 8:00AM. That is not quite true. I forgot that I need to get up early to write this blog. So I have to leave in a few to go to the beach.
Yes, we are doing the Baptism at the beach in Del Mar, the same place that I spread Harriet's ashes.
So when I get back, hopefully I will have a few picture take Kathleen will take.

UPDATE:
Like I promised here are some pictures. The 1st one is of the beach at Del Mar and this is where I spread Harriet's ashes out in the water. If you look to the center of the 1st picture were all the guys are sitting that's on the reef at Del Mar and where I go surfing. It was a beautiful morning water temperature was 68° in the air temperature was probably around 72, that's at 8 AM.

The next picture is of Victoria, after I baptized her. Then the next picture is her father and his name is Frank. And of course that picture is after I baptized him. It is difficult when you're doing this in the ocean to time it so that you can put them underwater at the exact time and then by the time you lift their heads out of the water the next wave is already coming.

We all had a good time and I thank Kathleen for taking the pictures.

Some of you are aware of this and others of you are not but this past week Daniel seem to rubbed his eyes while he was at work and he must've had something on his hands, either chemical or insulation in erupted into his eyes. This caused severe eye irritation and I had to take him to a clinic on Wednesday morning because he could not open his eyes to drive. It was really bad. Anyway he's doing much better and he told me this morning that he is able to put his contact lenses back in so he is recovering. I'm glad that he's doing well.

We are planning to have a Thanksgiving Day service at our church this coming Thursday. It will be at 9 AM and it will last for one hour, which will include a communion service also. I hope that you take time to count your blessings and give thanks to God. You know it says in the epistle of James that every good gift and every perfect gift comes from the Father above. The question is, are we giving thanks for all he's done for us? It's something to think about and I hope you will take the time to count your blessings and to thank God for them. If you can make it on Thursday morning at 9 AM at church would love to have you. For more information go to the church website which is: www.mbcsd.org

I wish you a great weekend.

11-14-15 Sat

Good Morning everyone! Well another week behind us. Things are busy here. I am trying to keep things up as Harriet did, but that is a full time job, she was really good and taking care of the house and everything pertaining to it.

Daniel is working hard and enjoy so many thinks. He enjoys trying new foods (I don't). He is going to the classes that he is assigned too. Three classes each week 90 mins each. These are part of the program that he must attend.

The weather has really changed, it was 61 degrees in the house when I woke up this AM. We are having breakfast this morning with Joe, Hilda and the boys. Always a good time. Then we have been invited by our friends Brad and Karen to watch the last soccer game for their daughter Amber. So I am taking some of the boys with me. We always have such a good time together. It helps to fill the void, if you know what I mean. I love these guys.

I will have a couple of new pics next week. I have to scan them into the computer. Well I must get ready to go so I am bailing out for now.

I wish you a great weekend,
Frank

11-7-15 Sat. Late

Well, I put this morning. I had an outing planned with our grandsons Joseph and Timothy and I didn't realize that I forgot to do the blog this morning until it was time for me to leave. Now it's Saturday afternoon and I'm in trouble because I'm getting the blog out late.

Daniel is doing well. He is working hard and getting 40 hours a week. He's also been meeting with my friend Gaylin that I've known for about 40 years. Daniel is going to try and help do some computer work for Gaylin, which Daniel can do from home. I will say that Daniel is quite energetic and wants to get ahead. He realizes that he's missed a lot of years and he's trying to make up for it.

I've been doing the same old same old. Trying to get into the cleaning of some of the things that I realize I've let go. It's not been terrible, but I scrubbed the sink and the top of the range this week. I came across the 5 x 8" card that was in one of the drawers that Harriet had a list of everything that she did on a monthly basis as pertaining to housecleaning. She was very organized to say the least. You'd think I would've learned something from her in all these years. I'm doing better but I'm not in her league.

Tomorrow I'm giving the message and it's going to be about the apostle Andrew. There really isn't a ton of Scripture about him but there are enough verses that we get a good idea about his commitment and priorities. I hope that you'll be able to go to the house the Lord and worship the Creator of the universe, Jesus Christ!

The 1st picture is of Harriet and myself in a canoe at Waikiki in 2001. This was our 1st trip to Hawaii and I actually was able to talk Harriet Into taking a canoe right and writing some waves. I came across to the picture album that she took and put all the pictures from that trip and she made an outline of what we did each day on this adventure. It was really kind of neat to read her take on this.

The next picture is Harriet and me and I can't remember if we were at the Nadzam's Home or not, but that's what I'm thinking.
